What an amazing thing! I reached one of my milestones in April with 10000 views. Yup, the numbers are correct – 10000 views in one month. The constant support from regular visitors is definitely a boon, however I am overwhelmed by yesterday’s support of family, friends, friends of friends, and complete strangers who rallied to my request and helped me meet this amazing goal.

Many of you will not recognized the picture in this article. It is the exact one I used on 9 March 2014 when The Grateful Golfer reached 10000 views total. It took 22 months to meet this goal and I am just as surprised by the support now as I was then.

But, let me focus on what was really important to this milestone. The purpose of The Grateful Golfer is ‘Freely Share All Things Golf’ and to connect with other golfers. I did not realize just how connected we really are. Two days ago, I mentioned to my wife that I was very close to this milestone for my blog. She immediately suggested that I put out a call on social media to ask our friends to help me achieve this goal.

At first I balked (as per normal), but this morning, after our walk, I decided to give it a try. I put the ask out this first ask on FB (personal and The Grateful Golfer Page)

The Grateful Golfer is fun to write and I have had the awesome opportunity to connect with my like minded golfers. Well, my blog is growing success and I am on the verge of hitting a milestone I set 5 years ago of 10,000 views in one month. At this time I am 400 views away!
So, I am asking for your help. Can you come visit and look at an article or two. Of note, the infographics were created by Ali. Also, if you feel up to it, share my request with your friends.

Then something amazing happened. Friends started talking to friends, sharing, posting, commenting, and within 6 hours The Grateful Golfer received over 400 views and 150 new visitors! I heard from old friends, new friends, strangers and golfing fanatics. Additionally, all this traffic resulted in 10 new subscribers. As a final over-the-top surprise is that yesterday garnered me the most views on one day….ever! Overall, I am completely blown away by all the positive support!

One of the main take-aways is that people are listening. I often wonder if writing about golf everyday is worth the hours I spend and today the support from everyone showed that my 3-foot space is larger than I thought. I am inspired to continue writing and for that I am truly grateful to everyone who took the time to stop by and help. You are all amazing!

With one milestone down, I will work on the others. Mostly, I want to keep sharing my golfing experiences, listening to what people have to say about golf, and engaging with grateful golfers. And of course, hit the links as much as possible!
