Now that spring is here, it is time to review the Forté Golf Balls I received late last fall. It is my intention to have something out next week, so stay tuned!
Forté Golf Balls are relatively new to the market. I was approached to give an honest assessment of their product and I am excited to put their golf balls to the test. Forté is an Australian company created by avid golfers and their ball developed was focused on all level of players.
“We’ve created an entirely new formula for the golf ball. The softest ball we design helps those non-pros conquer difficulties—no matter the situation. That’s the entire reason we’ve created FORTÉ.” (Forté Golf)
Forté are focusing on the amateur golfer. It is refreshing to see a company focus on the major of golfers regardless of their skill level. “We design and create incredible balls perfect for you and your next game, not only want you to have great experiences, but we want to reawaken your passion for golf. We all have unique identities, and just like us, each type of ball has its own personality. We can’t wait to watch you play to your strengths and push beyond your limit. With FORTÉ, you don’t just know who you are—you know who you want to be.”
The Tour Performance is a 3-piece ball “Ideal for players with who demands premium urethane covers ball at all skill levels. Increased short game spin control without sacrificing tee shot distance.” Forté says it is a low compression golf ball, but I could not find an exact number.
I recommend a 3-piece ball is for mid to low handicap players who value spin around the green.
The Apex 6 is the first 6 piece golf ball. Forté states that it is “Ideal for players who demands the best or nothing. Underneath the cast urethane cover is the world’s first 6 piece golf ball! It guarantees to outperform the competition in all aspect.”
I am very excited to try the Apex 6. I am intrigued to see if I can tell the difference between a 3-piece and 6-piece golf ball. I would think that this ball offers the best of all worlds – distance and spin control. I will have wait until I hit the practice range before finding out.
Reviewing golf balls, or any equipment, is always fun. I am continually looking for the right ball at the right price for my game and to share my findings with the readers at The Grateful Golfer. Thanks Forté for sending me the Tour Performance and Apex 6 golf balls, this spring is going to be great fun!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Jim,
I also have tested these balls — just haven’t had time for the review! Things have been busy but that’s typically how summer goes. Hope you liked them and looking forward to seeing your thoughts.

I have been managing to play a fair bit and having some success in match play competitions so far. Work has been crazy too so tough to fit it all in but it’s a fun challenge!

Well thanks for taking all the excitement over my getting to try some new balls.
Kidding aside, I’ll look forward to hearing all about those 6 piece balls. If the extra layers make for another revolution in control, I might even stop being a cheapskate and playing my Wilson 50’s.

Hi Jim, looking forward to your review. Have you tried the much talked about ball from Cost-Co.the Kirkland Signature ball ?
Just wondering how an Australian company found you in Canada. Sounds like a great project and I wish you well.

The Australian Company reach out and asked if I was interested in providing a review. It was all by chance. I have not tried the Kirkland Signature ball; there were none on the shelf when I went to the store. Now, we cannot buy them. Here is hoping that they get resupplied soon. I hope your game is going well, considering it is winter in NZ.
Cheers

I have heard that the signature ball is back on sale, in the States anyway. They took Titliest to court, and must have settled outside. Game is Ok, but I do not like the cold condition.
It must be great for you to know that companies are reading your blog.
