My New Clic 3.5+ Golf Push Cart

I finally decided to replace my 12-year-old Bag Boy push cart. It is held together with wire and some other repairs, but it is reaching the end of its life. So, just before Christmas, on my birthday, I decided it was time to conduct some retail therapy. I did my research and decided to purchase a Clic 3.5+ golf push cart. Needless to say, I am quite happy with my new wheels and look forward to using it in the summer. How did I settle on my new toy, well let me tell you!

My New Clic 3.5+ Golf Push Cart

I decided on this particular cart for many reasons: it was assembled in Canada, it is robust, it has three wheels vice four, cost, and reviews. I did my research and this particular cart finished as 1, 2 or 3 in almost all results. So, on an average it had the best value for the money. 

My friend Blair has an older Clic model and he is very happy with his purchase. So his opinion was also weighed in on my decision. Nothing like testimony you can trust to help with the decision-making process.  

Compact size of the Clic 3.5+ was a definite selling feature.

The deciding factor for my was its ability to fold up into a small package for storage in my car. All golf push carts fold up, but most take up a fair amount of room in my trunk. So, I decided to go with something a bit more portable.

My new cart also has other features like a larger storage box, screw in umbrella holder, cup holder,  and bungee cord bag straps.

I mention the last feature because my last cart used velcro straps and it was a poor design for odd-shaped golf bags. I was never able to get the straps tight enough to prevent my bag from shifting in the holders. So, I figure the bungee cord straps will do the trick.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I am looking forward to using it in the heat of the summer. When it has a few rounds under its belt, I will revisit this post and let you know if my perceived value is really there.

  2. My cart is a Bag Boy Avenger. It doesn’t fold up as nicely as your does, and it uses velco for the top strap but the bottom is a quick release type that keeps a bag from shifting no matter its shape. It’s a three wheeler too. The only problem I’ve ever had is it getting blown over in the wind when I had the umbrella in place and deployed. I’ve broken two umbrella’s that way over the years. But it’s worth it to get some shade in the Florida sun.

        I still love my Clicgear 3.5+ cart. In addition, I bought a tire cover to keep the grass and dirt down in my car and a GPS holder that goes on my umbrella holder. It is easy to push and holds my large cart bag very well. There are plenty of storage areas and places to clip things which is a bonus. The hole for the umbrella is a bit large so my umbrella moves around a bit when walking; the place to put my scorecard works, but I think is kind of clunky. These are really minor things and would never detract me from purchasing this cart. Lastly, it took a bit of practice to open up the cart, but all good now. Hope this helps.

  5. I use an older model Sun Mountain Speed Cart. Only change from original is that I replaced the pneumatic tires with solids. Pneumatics run smoother, with less resistance, but I got tired of replacing the inner tubes.

    The Gallery is a nice touch.
