There are many different tips for experienced golfers that may not not be achievable. Most of the time it is a physical limitation, but not always. I came across a video that offers three simple tips to improve our distance with your driver. Before we venture into new areas to improve our game, ensure that you are physically ready and able to try. What the video shows is three simple things we can do as seniors to increase our distance off the tee.

Over the years, I notice many of my playing partners hold the golf club in a death grip. Their fear, as I asked them, is they are afraid the club will fly out of their hands. I further asked if this had ever happened and their immediate response was no. With such a quick answer, I often wonder why they felt they needed to strangle their hold on the golf club. Gripping our golf club with the correct amount of pressure is important for executing a perfect golf swing. Movement and control is hindered if we grip the club too tight and I know this from personal experience.

With golf only a few months off, it is time to start thinking about what comes next. Is this the year I try to lower my handicap, again? Or is it the time to focus on maximizing the fun out of my game. I realize that it will likely be a bit of both, however playing golf with hickory sticks has changed my view on my golf game. The more I read about my golf swing, the more I realize how much I still need to understand. Recently, I stumbled across the concept of looping the club in practice in order to maintain a strong swing plane on the golf course. The concept, at least how it is described, is similar to other swing mechanics I studied. The loop movement is worth understanding and can help improve our contact with every club. It is something being taught throughout the higher levels of golf and thus will trickle down to our level sooner or later.
