Golf Advice – “Putt What You See”

My golf season is a mix of regular rounds, match play events and team events. Every time I play, it is a new experience with respect to putting. The reason for the diverse opportunities is due to the ball never landing in the same place twice regardless of the number of rounds played. Playing in team events, it is a challenge to select the line that fits all the players, hence the statement by my friend Jack: “Putt What You See”. It is a universal statement that all golf teams should understand and employ.

A Fun Scramble At Pine Grove Golf Course – Again

A few days ago, Blair and I were again invited to play in a fun scramble at Pine Grove Golf Course in Sudbury, Ontario. Bruce, my brother in law, extended the invitation to play in the Mine Mill Local 598 Unifor Retirees Tournament which we could not refuse. Gratefully, Bruce also invited Jack to play, thus reuniting the old team. As in our previous tournatment with these fellas, it was one of the more enjoyable rounds of golf I have played in some time. Bruce has already asked us to play next year and with all the stars aligning, we will be back!

Golfing Was Fantastic This Week

This week was one of the best of my 2023 golf season. I played in two scrambles and one scramble match play with great results in all the events. Every year I have a week or two like this and in 2023, this was my first. I always look forward to these short periods of lots of golf and it is always better when I play well with positive results. And this week was better that expected!

Three Golf Tournaments In Three Days

Today starts the day of three (potentially four) rounds of golf in tournaments. It will be a very busy week, but great fun as well. Unfortunately the three booked are scrambles with the potential of the potentially fourth round being match play. The rounds will all be a different courses and with different players. So, lots of golf with great friends is in my future starting today. Being matched with a variety of players, it will be challenging to keep my strategy in check because each player brings something different to the table.
