One of the reoccurring challenges I find during my research is how amateurs do not maintain a stable platform when chipping. We have a tendency to ‘help’ our club through contact by moving our lower body more than needed. This particular swing fault is almost counterintuitive because most of us feel that keeping the same motion while chipping and striking the ball makes sense. Well, this is not the case and creating a more stable lower body on short chips promotes a consistent, repeatable golf swing that helps lower our golf scores.

What To Do When The Ball Is Above Your Feet
Depending on the course you play, you may be faced with a plethora of lies that are far from flat. My old home course of Osprey Links offers a multitude of challenging lies on the separate nines. Spring is a difficult time in my area. For the most part, we expect that warmer weather will increase our chances of our local golf course opening. But, alas that is not true. Starting tonight, we are expecting another blast of winter. It makes many golfers in my area sad because that will push back opening day at least a week. Unfortunately, that is part of the seasons in my area.
