While playing golf yesterday, I bogeyed the par 5, 512 yard hole twice. As a nine hole golf course, I had the opportunity to play the same hole with the same results. Needless to say, I was very disappointed because I expect to shoot a par or better on the par 5s. I believe my game is such were on most par 5s I have an opportunity to gain ground on my score. Well, yesterday was not the case. It was interesting that the same results resulted in the same type of swing errors and I because of my attitude, I was able to push past the disappointing results.

Focusing On Just Playing Golf For Fun
My golf season is in full swing. I have ample opportunity to hit the links without any challenges of time to play. As an example, on Friday, I skipped out to the course and only played three holes. I had planned to do a quick nine, but the course was busy and poor weather was coming in. Being only 10 minutes from the course, I did not feel compelled to stay and grind out the rest of the six holes. I had a great time albeit short. The next few months is where I will continue to work at my game with the focus on playing for fun. Regardless of the time I spend on the links, I will have fun and enjoy the moments.

The first of July is special to all Canadians because it is Canada’s Birthday.
This year is extra special because my daughter and her boy friend will be with my wife and I celebrating Canada Day. Spending time with family on this special day makes the day!

Canada is 156 years young! As a Canadian, I have so much to be grateful for; I believe that Canada offers more to its citizens than any country in the world. We are not the biggest, richest, nor most influential, but in my opinion, we are the best! After spending 36 years of my life protecting this great country, I still marvel at its majestic and pristine beauty.
Happy Canada Day!
I am a grateful Canadian!
Avoidable Putting Mistakes
Putting is a very personal skill in golf. If we lined up 50 amateurs, I bet 45 of them would have a different putting style. This variation is fine as long as the player can repeat the stroke again and again. Over the years, I have offered putting tips that would reduce error s and build consistency. My tips are not just mine alone because golf experts, like Rick Shiels, espouse the same topics. Fortunately, I found a short video that address seven putting errors that most amateur golfs make on a routine basis. This is a great topic for sharing as I watch the Travelers Championship.
Continue readingHow To Hit The Ball In Play Off The Tee
Hitting the ball in play off the tee needs to be balanced hitting for distance. Recently, I have adjusted my set up with my driver in order to hit the ball a bit farther with a slight draw. This change has not come with its challenges, but mostly when I swing too fast I come over the top and pull the ball farther left than I intend. This wayward shooting happened during the back nine of my round yesterday.
