Many players draw a line on their ball in order to help with alignment their putts. I guess some times they will use the same technique for other shots, but on the green is where I see the greatest benefit for this type of mark on a golf ball. I have tried this alignment aid before, but alas it did not work for me. However, I am sure there are many different ways to mark a golf ball that bring success to the players game.

Gaining Strokes Through Dumb Luck
Have you ever played a game where everything seem to go your way. You know, the bounces that are impossible to watch, yet always prove successful. I have been blessed with many rounds over the years, I can say that not all my shots, although intended, did not finish exactly the way I want. They turned out better. I can say that I gained strokes through dumb luck. And like other players, I will take these strokes of good fortune with a smile.

I would like to think that today was going to be just another day on the links. Unfortunately, my golf season has come to a screeching halt. Due to the rise in COVID cases, our province has made the tough decision to expand the stay at home order including closing all golf courses. Go figure, after shooting a 75 last time out, I will have to wait at least 30 days before the golf courses will be open in our area. I have admit that I am very disappointed, but understand the reason for the government’s decision. I guess the next question is now what?

My first round of golf for 2021 is in the books. On Monday past, Blair, Rick, Fernando and I teed up for the first of many rounds to come. We had three seasons of golf in one round starting with a cool fall breezy conditions, then warm sunny summer conditions, and finally cool spring rainy weather. It is a good thing I was prepared for all three. Not to worry, the weather was a non-factor for me because I was grateful to be golfing. For the most part, my round was great fun and I met most of my expectations.

The day is finally here and I will be teeing it up for the first time in 2021. I have waited, prepared, and dreamed about this day and thought it would never come. But, it is here and at noon EST, I will striping my ball down the middle of the fairway! After watching The Masters yesterday, I am psyched to walk 18 holes with my friends. And as my first round of the year, I have some expectations that will help guide me on my way.
