Earlier in the week I posted about taking stats on my next round of golf. Although one round does not provide enough data to make any solid decisions on where I need to practice, the one round I played did provide some possible focus as to where I need work. With such a short season, it is a challenge to be patience with such a short golf season, but I do know that everything takes time. With a small sample set, this is where I realize I need the most work.

Finally Playing Regular Golf
As most of you know, I started my golf season with a round of hickory sticks at the World Hickory Golf Day in Cambridge. The Golf Historical Society of Canada hosted and its an annual event that marks the start of my golf season. Well, fast forward it to Monday past and I teed it up on the links with my friend Jack. We did a quick nine holes (temperature was 29° C or 84°F) and it was a great start to what I hope to be an awesome season. I hit some good, poor and great shots. Let me explain.

After watching the exciting action at the Masters, my desire for my local course to open has grown exponentially. I think we still have a couple of weeks, but the warm weather definitely stokes my competitive juices. While I wait, I will have to dig out my clubs from storage, give them a good cleaning and restock the supplies in my bag. It really is a matter of hurry up and wait!

Well, it is March first and golf season is about six weeks away. I wish I could tell you that I am stoked for the upcoming season. Unfortunately, this year the fire is a bit slow to be lit. I know that I will start the season with gusto, but for now I am having challenges finding golf stuff to write about and even sitting down to research some topics. This lethargic approach to my golf season happens every year, but this year it seems to be lingering a little longer than expected. So, my challenge today is to determine what to write about in order to fan the flames of passion. So, here it goes!

With the arrival of 2025, every golfer looks forward to the their playing season with renewed hope and excitement. Yup, as the events of 2024 are now in the history books, it is up to all of us to chart a course of success on and off the golf course. While thinking of new ways to improve my golf game, it is important to accept that the highs and lows experienced in the previous golf season will likely emerge in the upcoming 2025 season. This is nothing new, but I have found ways to hopefully reduce the lows in improves the highs of my golf game…..they are not profound, yet do provide a foundation that will shape my upcoming year.
