My golf season is in full swing. I have ample opportunity to hit the links without any challenges of time to play. As an example, on Friday, I skipped out to the course and only played three holes. I had planned to do a quick nine, but the course was busy and poor weather was coming in. Being only 10 minutes from the course, I did not feel compelled to stay and grind out the rest of the six holes. I had a great time albeit short. The next few months is where I will continue to work at my game with the focus on playing for fun. Regardless of the time I spend on the links, I will have fun and enjoy the moments.

The first of July is special to all Canadians because it is Canada’s Birthday.
This year is extra special because my daughter and her boy friend will be with my wife and I celebrating Canada Day. Spending time with family on this special day makes the day!

Canada is 156 years young! As a Canadian, I have so much to be grateful for; I believe that Canada offers more to its citizens than any country in the world. We are not the biggest, richest, nor most influential, but in my opinion, we are the best! After spending 36 years of my life protecting this great country, I still marvel at its majestic and pristine beauty.
Happy Canada Day!
I am a grateful Canadian!
Hitting A Golf Ball Over An Obstacle
Every golfer has to hit their ball over something. It may not happen every round, but it does happen where an obstacle is between the ball and intended target. The more practice I had (unfortunately playing out of tough positions) hitting over an obstacle, the more I was able to analyze my approach to making these shots. I was able to change my methodology such that now hitting over obstacles is easier and not as intimidating. My process is simple and more mental than physical.

Well, fortunately, I have never played in such conditions and never plan too. How about you?
Continue readingChunking A 40 Yard Golf Shot
All golfers chip the ball for about 40 yards. The fact that we do not have enough distance to make most long par 4 holes, this shortish distance plays greatly the shots required to get up and down. The principles of chipping the ball from 40 yards are similar to around the green. The technique I recommend focuses on how we use our wrists from this distance and why it is an important skill to master.
