For many players, including myself, each round of golf is wrought with waiting. Waiting for our next shot is can vary from seconds to many minutes. I have watched players hit their ball three or four time before it became my turn. As I watched, I silently tried to keep my focus on what I had to do, but sometimes that was a challenge to say the least. The longer I waited, the greater my anticipation grew for my next shot.

Many golfers get nervous on the first tee. Their minds, well at least mind does, fills with potential danger and concern about hitting a missed shot. This continual challenge is one that I believe I have conquered. This does not mean I always hit the ball well, but at least I do not dread the first tee as I wait for my turn. It took me some time to overcome my apprehension by developing a process of coping that suits my game; additionally, I came across a video by Tom Watson that will hopefully help if you are struggling with your first tee shot.
Continue readingWriting A Golf Article On My Phone
I am trying something new today by writing this article on my phone. There is not suppose to be any limitations, except the ones I impose on myself due to my lack of knowledge and experience. Wait, that sounds exactly how I developed my golf game.
As my game evolved, I encountered many shots that I had no idea how to play. I have to admit that it was a bit scary as navigated through the unknown. But as I gained experience I felt better about my game.
Unfortunately, at that time, I lacked a great deal of knowledge (understanding) of the options of each shot. Over the years of struggling with poor decisions, I decided to become a student of the game. This step towards being a better player was as much about lowering my scores as increasing my education so could open the door to more potential options with different shots.
Fast forward to today. I am always trying to improve my knowledge and understanding of golf. This passion I have to become smarter is my journey. This path will never end until I decide that I have reached the end of my journey. I do not see that happening anytime soon, but when I do I will not stop playing just stop searching.
So what is the point of my diatribe, continue searching for and expanding your knowledge about golf. Only through understanding the 5 Ws will you truly become a better golfer! On a side note, your path to knowledge and understanding is yours alone. I cannot tell you how to navigate your path, but I do know that this journey will be full of the elation of accomplishment!

Weel, my first article on my phone is complete. That’s for reading and have an awesome day!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Stop Three Putting
If there is one thing I hat more that anything is three putting. I am confident that all of you feel the same way. I work on my short game all the time in order to reduce my scores. I believe that the most strokes saved during any round is on the green, so it only makes sense to eliminate extra strokes in needless three putts. I have talked about three putting and lag putting in previous posts, however I found I can never stop looking to ways to improve this area of my game. Well, you are in luck because I found another drill that just might help us eliminate three putting from our game forever.
Continue readingGaining Strokes Through Dumb Luck
Have you ever played a game where everything seem to go your way. You know, the bounces that are impossible to watch, yet always prove successful. I have been blessed with many rounds over the years, I can say that not all my shots, although intended, did not finish exactly the way I want. They turned out better. I can say that I gained strokes through dumb luck. And like other players, I will take these strokes of good fortune with a smile.
