For millions of golfers in North America (and other parts of the world) golf is teetering on the edge of the abyss. In our case, the golf courses opened a few short weeks ago with many playing restrictions for the protection of the patrons and workers. However, the more we play, the more we golfers are likely to become complacent with the rules. This course of action is folly because one case of COVID-19 at the golf course and catastrophe strikes.

Many amateurs fear moving to the back tees because of the added distance to every tee and approach shot. Personally, I am not fussed about this aspect of the challenge and relish the opportunity to put stress on my game. So, a few days ago I stepped back to the tips at Osprey Links Golf Course to practice playing longer distances. Unfortunately, my experiment did not go as planned, but it was great fun regardless.

Over the many years of playing, I have heard my golf game described as boring. I hit the fairway and greens more often than not and do not seem to make many poor shots (believe me I do, but they seem to go unnoticed). It is the nature of my game that I have honed over the many years of playing. After a discussion with Andre, a friend I met last year golfing, he suggested that I need to take a slightly more aggressive approach to my golf game. Mmmm, this is a great thought provoking statement!
