As I watched Chesson Hadley putt off the green on the 17th hole at the Waste Management Pheonix Open, I fought the urge to crawl up in a ball, lay in the corner and babble endlessly about nothing. We have all had bad holes and I can certainly relate to Hadley’s unfortunate results of turning a potential eagle into a double bogey! It is Ground Hog Day, Again!
Every 365 days Groundhog Day rolls around. Today all golfers in the northern climes wait in anticipation for the weather prediction of rodents: Wiarton Willie and Punxsutawney Phil. The pressure exuded by golfers on these special creatures to predict an early spring is overwhelming. Each year as these loveable creatures climb out of their hole, millions of eyes are focused on their every move; if they see their shadow and scurry back home to safety, it means that golfers will have to wait an additional 6 weeks for winter to slowly become a distant memory.

I have never witnessed an albatross in person. I have watched Louis O make one on TV, but I have never seen this elusive shot live. Obviously I have never made an Albatross, but I have made 3 holes in one. Either feat is amazing, but to witness both or more importantly make both is something that rarely happens in golf…..or does it?

A Charity Golf Tournament With Mulligans
I love playing in charity golf tournaments. They provide an atmosphere designed for the players to have fun and enjoy contributing to a worthy cause. To increase the contributions, many tournaments, like Tee It Up For Mattawa, allow players to purchase a mulligan to be used at their discretion.
