Congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau for winning the 2024 US Open. There was an exciting struggle down the stretch against Rory McIlroy.
Unfortunately, McIlroy struggled on the last four holes and DeChambeau came through in the clutch. Specifically, his 55 yard sand shot on the 18th hole to six feet was the shot that clinched the US title.

Today is the final round of the US Open held at Pinehurst No. 2 golf course. The players are the top worked some magic yesterday with Bryson DeChambeau leading the pack. The course is a beast the totes small lightning-fast greens, challenging rough, and tough playing conditions. The play today will set the stage for some amazing play with many highs and lows. The difficulty for most armchair analysts is who will step up to claim the title? Will it be someone from the back or will the leaders duke it out in a slug fest?

My vote would go to Jack Nicklaus, but Tiger Woods, Sam Snead or Ben Hogan (just to name a few) would top other’s list. It is really a personal choice, but I wanted to show you a chip by the 84 years young Jack Nicklaus. I only wish I had a 10th of his skill.
I think it is fun to show shots like this by the greats. If you look closely, you will see Gary Player, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino and Anika Sorenstam watching Jack do his magic.

For years I watched players move the ball in a haphazard manner. Their in attention of how they place their maker behind the ball would cause challenges for the rules officials during tournaments. Additionally, they do not follow the proper procedure for moving and replacing their marker if it is in the putting path of their opponent. The process is actually very simple and it is basic knowledge that all golfers should understand.
Continue readingI have to say that as an avid golfer, I forgot that the US Open started yesterday. I was engrossed in my daily routine and thoughts of my own game when someone asked me who I thought would win. The question did take me by surprise and to be honest, I have completed very little research. I know it is being played at Pinehurst No. 2, at Pinehurst, North Carolina and it is playing over 7500 yards. After that, I plan to delve into what is happens today after my chores are finished for the day. Regardless, I do have a couple thoughts after looking at the Day 1 results.
