Lag putting is a topic that continues to pop up on The Grateful Golfer. After watching the PPG Championship yesterday, it was obvious that lag putting needed to make another appearance. There are many great videos out there with plenty of suggestions and I recommend you find one. Well, I found a drill by Dave Pelz that will be help develop your lag putting skills. It is simple, easy and repeatable; talk about a drill made for amateurs.

Every round of golf produces lies that can confound most players. Hitting the ball out of the rough is definitely one of those times where understanding how to produce a great shot is needed. There is not one round of golf I have played, ever, where I did not have to hit at least one shot from the rough. Knowing I will need to hit a difficult shot forced me to realize I needed to practice and understand the process of hitting out of longer grass. It is a skill that understand, but do not always execute. That is the nature of my game. Is it the same for you?

The discussion rages on about which golf ball is the best for each player. I have buoy with the idea of changing golf balls in order to improve my game, but I have decided to try and find some success this season. The challenge for many players is the cost of golf balls in relation to the value received. This is my current situation and I seem to be at a standstill on which direction to follow. That is until recently. I have made a decision and we shall see if it is a good one over the course of the summer.

The second leg of my golf trip was easily as much fun as the first. Making our way to Roanoke Golf Club was a simple drive only minutes away from Pembroke and Petawawa, Ontario. After a quiet night on day one, I was ready for another wonderful round of golf on a great course. Fortunately, I was not disappointed. Roanoke proved to be as much of a challenge as day one with all the fun!

Every year, 72 golfers associated with my home town of Mattawa descend on the Petawawa / Pembroke area to have a fun tournament, rekindle long standing friendships and play some golf. This year, we played a two fantastic courses which added to great fun had by all. Organized by a long standing local resident of Mattawa, Paul, we headed down to Wolf Ridge Golf Course for the first day of fun in the sun. It was an amazing day of golf on a stellar course!
