Golf Is Hard

I do not have much to say today. Lots of life stuff going on that keeps my focus away from golf. This is normal of everyone and it is just my turn. All is good, just busy.

Every once in awhile I posts difficult shots by professionals to show amateurs that unlucky bounces, duffed shots and complete mishits happen to everyone. Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more musings soon.

Is Playing Golf With You Fun?

There are many reasons why players enjoy playing golf. Many deal with the social aspect of spending 3+ hours in a beautiful place chatting and soaking up the good vibes. Much of this elation stems from the interaction between players. Understanding some of the basic do’s and don’ts goes a long way to ensuring that players are having fun playing golf with you.

Using The ‘Texas Wedge’

The uniqueness of many golf shots are situational dependent. This statement speaks volumes for most golf games. One of the shots rarely used in my neck of the woods is chipping with the Texas Wedge. Basically, it is chipping with a putter! Given the types of golf courses I play in my area, a Texas Wedge is not that useful because of the types of grass and how they are cut. Regardless, this unique club selection is beneficial especially on a tight lie or out of a bunker with no lip.

Hitting Solid Irons Produces Great Golf Scores

Lower golf scores is the goal for every golfer. Sure, there is the odd player who does not care about their score, however these golfers are a rare breed. Many amateurs struggle with hitting consistent irons and as a result their (my) scores rise higher than expected. The major problem I have noticed relates to players trying to help their ball with respect to distance, direction and flight. They feel that their ball needs some assistance to achieve their desired outcome, when nothing farther from the true truth is the reality. There are many reasons for the conundrum, however I will focus on one fix that applies to all shots; a universal approach is a better way to describe it.
