Moving day at the 2025 Masters was by far the most fun to watch in years. Saturday is traditionally the time when players make their move to position themselves for the final push on Sunday. Two players stood out and a couple moved up the leaderboard. With only 18 holes to go, I predict that if a player is not with five strokes, the chances of winning the green jacket are virtually non-existent. Although it is possible, it is unlikely that Patrick Reed or Ludvig Åberg will shoot well enough and Rory McIlroy, Corry Conners or Bryson DeChambeau will all play poorly enough to open the door for a run from down the field. So, with this in mind, what can expect in the final round of the 2025 Masters.

2024 US Open: Bryson DeChambeau
Congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau for winning the 2024 US Open. There was an exciting struggle down the stretch against Rory McIlroy.
Unfortunately, McIlroy struggled on the last four holes and DeChambeau came through in the clutch. Specifically, his 55 yard sand shot on the 18th hole to six feet was the shot that clinched the US title.

Congratulations to Bryson Dechambeau on his second US Open title.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Final Round Of The US Open
Today is the final round of the US Open held at Pinehurst No. 2 golf course. The players are the top worked some magic yesterday with Bryson DeChambeau leading the pack. The course is a beast the totes small lightning-fast greens, challenging rough, and tough playing conditions. The play today will set the stage for some amazing play with many highs and lows. The difficulty for most armchair analysts is who will step up to claim the title? Will it be someone from the back or will the leaders duke it out in a slug fest?

Traditionally, Saturday at any golf tournament is considered moving day. This year, I would call it ‘hold on for dear life day’! With two 68s making the lowest scores of the day, the lone 69 by Colin Morikawa had the greatest impact on the leaderboard. The leaders prior to the start of round three hoped to put some distance between them and the field, but alas, they were holding on for dear life for most of the round. It was a typical day at the Masters where Augusta National was the deciding factor on how well the field played.

The R&A and USGA have decided in their infinite wisdom to address the length of shafts on golf clubs. Specifically, the new rule allows tournament organizers to implement a local rule restricting the length of drivers to no longer than 46 inches. It is interesting that the governing bodies have decided to use the Model Local Rule approach instead of changing the rules of golf permanently. This change approach does make me wonder why and does this mean that any tournament hosting a professional or elite amateur event can impose local rules they may deem important?
