With only 24 weeks until Christmas, we in the northern climes understand that the cool weather and white precipitation is only 16 weekish away. There is no time to waste as I have a few more golf goals to accomplish before the end of our season some time in October. I am not getting twitchy, but I feel the clock pounding in the background as I write this post!Continue reading
I love the Christmas season. The winter wonderland, the sharing of happiness and joy, and spending time with the special people in my life. Although there is no golf, I will take the time to enjoy some outdoor activities, visiting, and being grateful. For me, it is also the time to give back to the community and to share some of my good fortune by donating to charities, the food bank, and just smiling at those I might encounter. The spirit of Christmas is all around us and I for one am happy to embrace it.
As part of my holiday traditions, I watch the Little Drummer Boy. It does not seem like much, but this video is one of my all time favorites and I like to share it every year – enjoy!
In case you did not notice, I love his mittens!
The Christmas season is a special time and I hope you take the opportunity to take the time and enjoy your family and friends. This was a bit of a repost from last year and nothing has change so I thought I would share it again.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
For the past seven years I notice a distinct drop in views at The Grateful Golfer. I do not think the material is any less ‘awesome’ (please ignore my shameless plug), but the fact the all the tours are preparing for a resurgence of activity in January. The big names are taking time with families and planning their schedule around the Majors. Overall, it is a quiet time for golf. Continue reading
Is it too early to be thinking about Christmas? Well, it is actually, but in this case it is more about being prepared. If you are like most golfers, we are very particular about the “golf stuff” we receive. There is plenty of options, but each player has unique needs and requirements. As such, having a running golf list helps take the stress out of the giver’s life. This list helps others enjoy in milestones more because they know they will buy you something you want. Unfortunately, most amateurs do not have a list and I a surprised. Continue reading
As the anticipation grows for Christmas Day, it is easy to become wrapped up in the craziness of the holiday season. It is a time for fun, laughter, and good times for many. Luckily, I am one because I have a blessed life and find Christmas time enjoyable and refreshing. I am grateful for all the amazing people in my 3 foot space!
This is a time for reflection and gratitude for the blessings in my life. Each year, I am amazed by my sense of happiness when I spend time with family and friends. Of course, this is not the same feeling for everyone and for those who are finding this time of year very difficult, I will be sending you positive thoughts in the hopes that it may bring some relief to your troubled times.
I realize that this is a golf blog and I intend on getting back to the main topic after Christmas. However, I choose the word grateful as part of the name for this blog to remind me that everyday, I create the day I want! And to do this, expressing gratitude is my first step.
I hope your day is full of fun and laughter. Remember that you still have one more day to be nice; if you are not, Santa just might leave you a lump of coal in your stocking instead of golf balls!
I am a grateful golfer! Enjoy your holidays!
