Every golfer I know loves to hit the ‘big dog’! Watching their ball sail through the air hundreds of yards is fun. The challenge for many beginners to golf is how to effectively grip it and rip it. Well, the process is fundamental for every player and it does take some time to develop the swing the works best for you. If you are new to golf, it is important to develop some basic fundamentals for hitting a driver in order to be successful off the tee. Hit Booming Drives
Watching professional golfers is great fun. The results from the elite players is something that amateurs can only dream about accomplishing. The crisp sound of contact with their driver is pure. I have heard that sound once or twice in my career, but not at the level of a professional golfer. Their amazing results off the tee drive many golfers to spend more time hitting the big stick vice working on their game and lowering their score. That, however, is a discussion for another day. I wonder, how far do amateurs actually hit their drives on a regular basis?

The R&A and USGA have decided in their infinite wisdom to address the length of shafts on golf clubs. Specifically, the new rule allows tournament organizers to implement a local rule restricting the length of drivers to no longer than 46 inches. It is interesting that the governing bodies have decided to use the Model Local Rule approach instead of changing the rules of golf permanently. This change approach does make me wonder why and does this mean that any tournament hosting a professional or elite amateur event can impose local rules they may deem important?
