Preparing for a Golf Tournament
The 100th PGA Championship starts today. With the last Major of 2018 underway, all the preparation is finished and the players are ready to put all the efforts to the test. Like these professionals, I have played in many tournaments and my success over the years is directly related to the how well I prepared to play. Of course, execution is always important, but the better prepared I was, the greater the success. I would suggest that the players teeing it up at Bellerive Country Club today feel the same way. Driver and Wedge is All We Need to Score Low
After watching Dustin Johnson, I have decided to leave most of my clubs in the trunk of my car next time I hit the links. After watching him cruise to a win at the RBC Canadian Open on the weekend, I realized I was carrying too much stuff when I play. Day 1 at The 2018 RBC Canadian Open
After an odd Day 1 where many of the big names ‘under-performed’ and a weather delay, Friday should prove demonstrated again that on any given day, any professional golfer can win on the PGA Tour. As predicted, there were many low scores and the 63 (-9) by Robert Garrigus was the highlight. It will be interesting to see if he can back it up with another very low scores. His low score was memorable, however the play of the big names was very surprising to me. Continue reading
Moving Day At The Open
The dust has settled and the players show survived the cut are getting down to business. They even the players who are 9 stokes back understand that a low round of 64 or 63 will put them back into the hunt. So holding back is not an option today. Conversely, those at the top of the leader board will likely play an aggressive conservative approach to their round. Take advantage when they can and protect their score the rest of the time!
