Confidence is golf’s sixth man. It can change our fortune on the course, if we let it! It helps overcome difficult shots and energizes your game to new levels. Confidence is a game changer.

I have talked about confidence before. But, I sometimes I am not sure that I have actually grasped the real importance of being confident on the course. The lack of confidence shows up in many ways: negative thoughts, the dreaded can’ts, second guessing, or anxiety over a shot. Flash in the Pan Golf

Are you a streaky golfer? Will you play 5 or 10 rounds of great golf followed by the same number of mediocre rounds? If so, you might have an ailment I call flash in the pan golf!

I am not sure what causes this aliment, but I experience this frustrating cycle once or twice a golf season. The trick for me is to limit the mediocre rounds and maximize the good rounds. However, noticing the change is the key to my lower golf scores! Continue reading

20 Seconds of Insane Courage in Golf

Golf is a challenging game. It offers the opportunity to be great and all that is needed is 20 seconds of insane courage! I am not talking about trying to hit a shot that impossible (and I have tried believe me) but, to make that shot when the entire round is on the line!

Yes, it is difficult to know what to do, but you will know when the opportunity arises. It is a time to throw caution into the wind for the big prize! My ZEN in Golf

Inner CalmOver the years I have matured and accepted that I can only control certain things on the golf course. It is very challenging for my ego to realize that at any given time, my plan for a great game can come of the rails. Conversely, my game can quickly turn around and exceed all my expectations, but I never seem to know when.

I sometimes wonder what is the key factor to feeling my ZEN throughout my entire round. Keeping my cool and remaining calm is extremely important to low scores. Yet as I think about the positive aspects of my ZEN, I cannot help but wonder if there is more to the “Jason Dufner” calm on the golf course?
