Shooting Two Birdies in One Round

I have an expectation that I will shoot at least two birdies in one round every time I tee it up. Of course, this does not always happen, but this stat is slowly improving. I can say that shooting even one birdie is great for lowering my final score and helps build confidence. But, this is no surprise and you already knew that – right?

Best Round of Golf So Far in 2019

It finally happened! I shot even par at Osprey Links Golf Course. I am excited to see that my game (although streaky) was sharp enough for 18 holes to shoot my lowest round of the year. The funny, I was just playing golf and not worrying about the score at all. The only time I mentioned my score was on the 18th hole when I needed a birdie putt for a 71. However, my round was a bit of a roller coaster!

Lost – One Short Game – If Found Please Return

Over the past 10 or 15 rounds, I found that my approach shots from 60 to 5 yards from the green are well below my expectations. Of course every golfer wants to have tap in shots, but goodness, my short game is struggling. Do not get me wrong, I make the odd shot that is very good, but my average results is a good 10 to 15 feet farther away than normal and I find this very frustrating!

So Close, But Yet So Far On The Green

On Wednesday past, my usual crew played a 9-hole 4-person scramble for Men’s Night. We generally are solid players and this week we were playing a bit better than normal. We were putting for birdie/eagle on 8 of the 9 holes, so our chances of shooting a low score was definitely part of our plan!
