Chipping around the green can be a challenge. Additionally, it offers a plethora of techniques you can use to chip the ball close or in the hole. Over the past few years I focused on toe chipping in order to develop a technique to consistently hit the ball close. I like toe chipping and have developed my 5 and 7 iron for longer chips, but have not mastered using the higher loft clubs because my confidence is not quite there…..yet. Regardless, toe chipping is a great way to successfully chip the ball when your lie is not the best. I guess your next question will be how to tip consistently with the toe of the club.

Fighting For Lower Golf Scores
Playing golf provides many opportunities to be successful or not. Each attempt at success offered teaching points that empower us to learn lessons to improve our golf game. Of course, we must have our minds open to maximize the learning opportunities in order to transfer this knowledge into lower golf scores. Many golfers are riddled with the challenge of self-doubt. It seems to be the nature of most athletes in any sport, but golf accentuates the mental challenges of knowing our golf game. I do believe I am not alone and most golfers, regardless of experience and skill level, face the same situation during every round of golf.

As I sit in my comfy chair sipping a coffee, I often think about my golf game. I wonder what I have to do to improve and more importantly, what I am willing to do. Most times, these two ideas do not jive and a hybrid solution needs to be developed in order to keep my golf game moving forward. This is always a slow time of the year for my golf game because I still have four months to wait before the courses open. I know this is crazy, but I do not travel in the winter and so I am here lamenting not being able to hit the links. Not to worry, there is a bright spot in my situation and it is not what you think.
