Golf Short Game Shots You Need To Master

During every round of golf, there are multiple opportunities to hit different approach shots from around the green. Our short game is always tested in various fashions. Every golfer knows this fact and many try to mitigate the challenges by mastering three shots every golfer should have in their bag: the chip, pitch and flop shot. Each has a varying degree of difficulty with the flop shot being the most challenging. If you have not tried to improve your skill regarding these three shots, it might be time to focus some practice time in this area.

A Chipping Process That Works Every Time

Chipping the golf all can be the bane of many amateurs. The inconsistency of contact, speed control and body position causes many a poor chip shot. It is not complicated, however there are three rules that constitute a golf ball being dropped properly. The penalty for breaching these rules range from a free redrop, a 1 stroke penalty or a 2 stroke penalty. So, understanding how to properly drop a golf ball is important to your score.

Successfully Hitting A Delicate Shot With Your Wedges

Using the scoring clubs with skill is a challenge for all golfers. There is no question that a player with a strong short game (the distance varies depending on skill) will shoot lower golf scores. Additionally, they will carry themselves with confidence as they know very few shots will cause them to mentally breakdown. There is one aspect of chipping around the green that all elite golfers execute without hesitation. It is the one skill that all golfers should learn and use if they want to improve their ability to play well with their wedges. It is not challenging and yet seems to dumbfound many amateurs as they develop their skills around the green.
