Getting Ready For My 2026 Golf Season

Happy New Year to all you grateful golfers! With the coming of 2026 golf season, it is time to reflect on last year’s performance and focus on what I can improve moving forward. Of course, as I live in northern climes, my golf season is still 4 months away, but it is never too early to start thinking about where I want to take my golf game. I realize over the past year I wrote less articles due to many factors and I hope to remedy that shortfall in 2026. Regardless, I am still dedicated to providing a positive, informative, and relatable golf blog for all to enjoy. And today is my first step towards achieving my goals.

Practicing The Right Things On The Golf Course

I started my practice plan in preparation for the upcoming Hickory Championship next Monday and Tuesday. As I stated yesterday, I had a plan to work on my short game, putting and ball contact. I played nine holes and hit 5 balls from various locations on each hole. It was a plan to test out my hickories to determine which club I should hit from what distance. The plan started off well, but I need to make a few adjustments moving forward.

Which Golf Club First?

The golf season is fast approaching. Some of my friends are heading south to get a jump on things and others will head indoors somewhere to warm up their swing. Personally, neither option is open to me, but I know spring is just around the corner.

When I head to the first open practice area, I always have a bit of a dilemma on which club to use first. The excitement of hitting golf balls sometimes overshadows my logic on preparing for the season. I am sure many of you feel the exact same way! Continue reading
