Lest We Forget!

Lest We Forget

Every year, November 11 is a special day to all military personnel.  Today, we take the time to honor the fallen, wounded and serving military men, women and their families. Their sacrifices have allowed for the freedoms we enjoy today.  It is important to give thanks and be grateful for our wonderful lives they protect. This is my first year out of uniform in 36. It will be a different experience for me as full fledged veteran, but it will not diminish my gratitude to all my brothers and sisters in arms!

Before I begin, I want to thank all my brothers and sisters in arms in the Canadian Armed Forces and our Allies for their service.

After 103 years since the armistice was signed, it is still important to remember the sacrifices that the world made during that conflict. Additionally, we cannot forget the sacrifices made by those who serve and continue to serve their country since; the too are remembered.

If were wondering about Canada’s contribution during The First World War:

In Flanders Fields is read at every Remembrance Day Ceremony I have attended.

Remembrance Day is a special occasion and I will be spending it remembering the sacrifices of brother’s and sister’s in arms who came before me. On this solemn day, I will give thanks for the freedom and liberties I enjoy everyday!

I am grateful to veterans! See you on the links!

  1. As with you, this is also my first Remembrance Day without the uniform. Heading to War Memorial to remember those that have fallen, those that have served and our Brothers and Sisters serving today! Thanx for the great reminder of the importance to this day.
