Need Help With Your Shot Alignment?

There are so many different tips out there on how to align your golf shots. Regardless of your experience, the plethora of tips can be overwhelming which in turn adds to the complexity of this fundamental tenant of our golf swing. I have my own method born out of years of experience and I still have alignment challenges from time to time. When I do, I try to revert back to my basic process to ensure I am aiming at my intended target.

My process is very similar to the one espoused in the following video. I think there are several aspects of this video that all golfers should follow because they are simple, easy to replicate and sustainable. Talk about a great process.

All the steps in this process, selecting a target from behind, approaching the ball with intent, aligning the club face first, set your feet next and ensuring all are square towards your aim point should be engrained in all golfers. Personally, I consider the entire process as my pre-shot routine, but you can call it anything you want.

The key part for my game is aligning the clubface properly. If I can square my clubface to my target, I have a better than not chance of hitting on my target line. To ensure I am hitting my target line, I select something about two feet in front of my ball and line up on that point. By selecting this spot, I am facilitating a proper alignment. It is something I have used for a very long time with great success.

Alignment is a key part of any golf shot. Understanding how and why we use pre-shot routines or just the steps to alignment is also very important. If you do not have an above process for making a golf shot, I recommend using the above steps as your foundation in which you can adjust to meet your needs. The simpler we make our swing process, the easier it is to repeat success.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
