Spring is a difficult time in my area. For the most part, we expect that warmer weather will increase our chances of our local golf course opening. But, alas that is not true. Starting tonight, we are expecting another blast of winter. It makes many golfers in my area sad because that will push back opening day at least a week. Unfortunately, that is part of the seasons in my area.

Normally, 15 April is the day I set to begin golfing each year. It is a time where I think the weather will cooperate with warm sunny temperatures. I have golfed as early as 3 April in my area, but not this year. But not this year. I guess I will have to head out to my garage, start a fire, and putter doing spring chores. The anticipation is a challenge, but something we all go through as we wait for golf season to officially start.
Every year I have a deal with my friends where we will golf at the first home course in the area…..when it opens. Last year Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort was first, but the year before was Osprey Links. All of us are watching the weather and local websites for any positive news.
Waiting for golf season is part of my journey each year. This year is no different, but as time creeps along I wonder (besides taking a trip) I can do that will help improve my golfing mood. Suggestions?
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
It seems your pain is our gain. We’re scheduled for another week or two of nice weather after the front moves through tonight. No golf tomorrow, but we’ll be in the low 70’s this weekend again.
Sorry, but I’m praying it never ends. lol
