Every year, November 11 is a special day to all military personnel. Today, we take the time to honor the fallen, wounded and serving military men, women and their families. Their sacrifices have allowed for the freedoms we enjoy today. It is important to give thanks and be grateful for our wonderful lives they protect. This is my third year out of uniform after 36 years of service. It will be a different experience for me as I learn to be a veteran still trying to serve my community. But, not matter how much time passes I will not let my gratitude diminish to all my brothers and sisters in arms who gave their lives so we can live in peace!
Before I begin, I want to thank all my brothers and sisters in arms in the Canadian Armed Forces and our Allies for their service.
After 106 years since the armistice was signed, it is still important to remember the sacrifices that the world made during that conflict. Additionally, we cannot forget the sacrifices made by those who serve and continue to serve their country since; the too are remembered.
If were wondering about Canada’s contribution during The First World War:

In Flanders Fields is read at every Remembrance Day Ceremony I have attended.
Remembrance Day is a special occasion and I will be spending it remembering the sacrifices of brother’s and sister’s in arms who came before me. On this solemn day, I will give thanks for the freedom and liberties I enjoy everyday!
I am grateful to veterans! Lest We Forget!

I spent Veterans Day playing in a scramble tournament to benefit wounded warriors and their families. We had a lot of fun. Didn’t win but we shot a respectable 10 under. Not sure what the winners shot because I couldn’t stay long enough because of another commitment but I know one team shot one better before we posted our score.
