Do You Consistently Pull or Push Putts?

One of the challenges most amateurs have is not keeping their ball on line when putting. We either pull or push the ball on a consistent basis. It is a frustrating result, yet many are not sure how to fix this swing fault. Personally, I try to keep my putter head on my aim line through the putt. That includes the backswing and follow through. My technique was developed over many years of practice. To get to this point, I went through many ‘trial and error’ sessions. Fortunately now, I do not have that problem. But, my success does not really help you the reader. Well, that might change.

We Are Not Out Of The Woods Yet!

Spring is a difficult time in my area. For the most part, we expect that warmer weather will increase our chances of our local golf course opening. But, alas that is not true. Starting tonight, we are expecting another blast of winter. It makes many golfers in my area sad because that will push back opening day at least a week. Unfortunately, that is part of the seasons in my area.

A Chipping Drill Lowers Your Golf Scores

After playing golf for many years, I comes as no surprise that I believe our approach shots are critical low golf scores. The greens in regulation stat is by far the most critical and i am always on the look out for different chip shots that will increase my GIR. For the most part, practice is key. How To Read A Green Properly

One of the most challenging skills in golf is reading a green properly. There seems to be a plethora of ideas on what method or technique to use in order to judge the slope of any green. I have tried many different methods to read greens with mixed results. Fortunately for me, years of experience on reading greens has resulted in a process that works for my game. I consider myself a fairly decent putter, but as every golfer knows, there is always room for improvement. So, how do we read a green properly?

Know What We Know In Golf

Many people think that Confucius is only talking about life. Well, I would suggest that it definitely applies to golf as well. As we travel through our golf journey, we attain a great deal of knowledge that helps or changes our game. The real test is whether we are willing to use that know ledge properly. See what Rory McIlroy has to say:

Knowing our golf game and accepting our limitations is a great first step to playing great golf. Even McIlroy states that professionals will avoid low percentage shots. To me, that just makes sense. After playing thousands of rounds of golf, I realize that I am still learning about my game. It has taken some time, but I also accept that certain aspects of my game (although it is uncomfortable) need to change in order to play better golf. I choose to continue to learn about golf and hopefully that will transition into something better than it is today.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
