Congratulations to Rory McIlroy for winning his first green jacket. Rory showed the resilience and mental strength needed to win at Augusta National and to complete his career grand slam. He made several poor (surprisingly poor) shots only to respond with amazing shots to gain back the momentum. I was amazed at some of the other scores and how many of those on the leaderboard made late surges to finish within the top 10 positions. After the dust settles, will say that the fans were the big winners as the 2025 Masters was the most exciting Major I watched in many years!
There really is not much to say except a shot out to Justin Rose for his amazing round. He definitely made the final round exciting. His minus six created the drama needed to elevate the Masters into a must watch event. Overall, I think Rose’s non-winning finish ranks up there as one of the best in Masters history. At 44 years old, Rose showed that at anytime anyone can a shot at winning a professional golf tournament.

The Grateful Golfer 
I watched until Rory got the first couple of holes in, then played 18 and came back to watch Rory’s last few holes. Couldn’t decide who to cheer on. I like them both. But the play was great to watch from both of them. Rory surely stepped up to take that win. Albeit a little on the late side. But who can’t relate to missing a short putt even without the kind of pressure he was under.
Wasn’t too bad on the course for me either. We played a skins game and unfortunately I didn’t beat Rory to the winner’s circle. My putter took too long to get hot. But I did manage to go eagle, eagle on 10 and 11 and get off to a great chase of the leader from there in. I would have caught him too if I hadn’t lipped out on both the last two holes. I only needed one of them to tie. That’s probably why I felt worse for Rose than I felt joy for Rory. lol

It was a great final round at the Masters. I enjoyed all the action and the final result. It was the most exciting Major I have watched in a long time. Eagle, Eagle is a great two holes, congrats.
