As an amateur golfer who loves to work on his game, I find it a challenge to when my balls travel varying distances. There are days when I am crushing the ball where what would normally be a 7 iron, for example, I am hitting a comfortable 8 iron. That is a change of 10 to 15 yards for reasons unknown. I cannot explain why my ball is travelling farther, but it is and I need to embrace that change even for a day. My New Golf Stance Is Working
A month ago I mentioned that I was going to change my stance a bit in order to hit my ball a farther with the same control. I figured (after reading and watching a great deal information) that my stance was a too wide with my irons and too square with my driver. While playing golf yesterday, I bogeyed the par 5, 512 yard hole twice. As a nine hole golf course, I had the opportunity to play the same hole with the same results. Needless to say, I was very disappointed because I expect to shoot a par or better on the par 5s. I believe my game is such were on most par 5s I have an opportunity to gain ground on my score. Well, yesterday was not the case. It was interesting that the same results resulted in the same type of swing errors and I because of my attitude, I was able to push past the disappointing results.

Hitting the ball first with our iron has many benefits. The goal to hit consistent iron shots is one technique most amateurs struggle to achieve. We may have some success with the shorter irons, but venturing into the mid and long irons usually poses fits for most golfers. All of this is because we have the wrong view on where the divot should be made and where our swing bottoms out. Following this path of understanding a bit farther, knowing about the angle of attack is where all of the above discussion leads. Knowing about the angle of attack with our irons will definitely improve our overall game and lower our golf scores.
