Of course we all mark our golf ball so we can easily identify it when playing. We by our golf balls with the numbers 1 to 4….most of the time. I recently purchase a dozen golf balls with 5 to 8 for something different. During my friendly rounds, I do not care which number is on my golf ball. I ensure my ball has my special mark, but that is about it. However, when it comes to competitions, that is something completely different.

Adjusting To Changes To Our Golf Game
Golf is an evolutionary journey. Rarely does a persons game remain stagnant because each day offers something new that grabs our attention. Whether we do feel as physically capable or we mentally are tired, we need to make adjustments to our golf game on a daily basis. How about those days where we make an intended change; how does that affect our golf game. I have talked about the domino effect in previous posts and that is important to understand. However, when we make a change to our course management, does that add additional pressure to another, seemingly unintentional, aspect of our game?

Do you take the time to warm up before you round of golf? Or do you arrive moments before your tee time and rush to the first tee? I can honestly say that I have taken my time and hurried before a round of golf. I will point out that for competitions, I arrive at least one hour before my round and go through a very focused warm up routine. After watching some professional golfers warm up, I feel that my routine is the right one for my game. In case there is any doubt, warming up is very important to playing my best golf.

Every golf has hit their ball into the sun, thus making it extremely difficult to watch your ball. When playing with partners, they make a strong effort to see your ball, however, if they do use the proper technique all is for not. I have tried so many different techniques that I was frustrated to point of giving up. I thought, I cannot see the ball anyway, so lets just play a game of poker and hope the best. Of course, this did not go over well with my playing partners, so I had to find a better way to track the ball in the sun. And I did!

In my neck of the woods, we anxiously waited for the arrival of the warm spring weather. It has arrived and many us are excited to spend more time outside in the fresh, warm, sunny temperatures. The last six weeks has seen many variations in the temperature, but we are now on the upward climb. If you are not aware, in Canada warm weather brings out a golf hazard that lasts about six weeks. Black flies and horse flies think of golfers as a buffet; no amount of bug spray seems to help…..it is a hazard we all must endure.
