There are many tips for hitting our fairway woods properly to maximize distance. I know what I need to do to be successful, but what works for me may not work for you. Regardless, I found a video that encapsulates how I hit a fairway wood and hybrids. It is nothing new, but something fundamental that most golfers should know and understand. Where Is Professional Golf Heading?

For years, the PGA Tour enjoyed a virtual monopoly over professional golf. The minor tours system was developed over the past 20 years are basically feeder tours for the big leagues. This business model is nothing new and virtually every sport has a similar system. This process was fantastic for the PGA Tour coffers, but that is now being challenged by the LIV professional golf tour. The rumours of Jon Rahm heading to LIV, for 600 million dollars US, has sparked more debate about the ability of the PGA Tour to continue its dominance at the top of professional golf.

Golf Is Hard

I do not have much to say today. Lots of life stuff going on that keeps my focus away from golf. This is normal of everyone and it is just my turn. All is good, just busy.

Using The ‘Texas Wedge’

The uniqueness of many golf shots are situational dependent. This statement speaks volumes for most golf games. One of the shots rarely used in my neck of the woods is chipping with the Texas Wedge. Basically, it is chipping with a putter! Given the types of golf courses I play in my area, a Texas Wedge is not that useful because of the types of grass and how they are cut. Regardless, this unique club selection is beneficial especially on a tight lie or out of a bunker with no lip.
