The types, patterns and colours of golf balls available makes my head spin and I am an avid golfer. I could easily speak for hours about the possibilities, however that would just make my head hurt. I recently ran a poll and the plethora of answers created the basis for this article. After a bit of research, I found out that there is more than just one thing that drives our golf ball selection. Watching professional golfers is great fun. The results from the elite players is something that amateurs can only dream about accomplishing. The crisp sound of contact with their driver is pure. I have heard that sound once or twice in my career, but not at the level of a professional golfer. Their amazing results off the tee drive many golfers to spend more time hitting the big stick vice working on their game and lowering their score. That, however, is a discussion for another day. I wonder, how far do amateurs actually hit their drives on a regular basis?

How many times have you hit the links wishing you had stayed home? For most players, especially those who do not play as often as they would like, this is a rare occurrence. The joy of golfing does help many players done rose coloured glasses; yet, there are times when on course or outside influences tip the scales towards walking off the course. In many cases, the decision to leave is not taken lightly. Regardless, leaving the golf course was the best decision and I have made that decision a few times myself over the years. Have you?
