It is Ground Hog Day, Again!

Every 365 days Groundhog Day rolls around. Today all golfers in the northern climes wait in anticipation for the weather prediction of rodents: Wiarton Willie and Punxsutawney Phil. The pressure exuded by golfers on these special creatures to predict an early spring is overwhelming. Each year as these loveable creatures climb out of their hole, millions of eyes are focused on their every move; if they see their shadow and scurry back home to safety, it means that golfers will have to wait an additional 6 weeks for winter to slowly become a distant memory.

After watching a video clip of Bryson DeChambeau and his caddie Tim Tucker at Dubai Classic, I was wondering what the governing is going to ban to make it more difficult for DeChambeau to use science as he plays. What Does Your Golf Score Really Tell You?

Much discussion happens around a players golf score and what it really means. Usually the first question out of any golfer’s mouth was “what did you shoot?” Or they are asking others about the best players score, it appears that the score is the benchmark to measure all things in golf. Well, I can tell you that the numbers lie and do not really mean as much as we think. Sometimes we chase a lower golf score like a dog changes his tail with no real success.

Is Forced Learning Really Learning in Golf?

This may seem like a strange question, however it is something I have thought about over the past few years. Immediately, many of us and put the brakes on when the hint of change is in the air. Stepping out of our comfort zone is not something that we embrace, yet to be a better golfer we have to make this journey often. Sometimes we must force ourselves to learn new skills if we ever want to achieve the new levels of play on the links.

Returning Found Golf Clubs – It Is The Right Thing To Do!

During one of my few rounds last year, I left my 56º Vokey sand wedge on one of the holes. I only realized I lost it on the 18th hole and had no clue about how far back I left this valuable club. After putting out, I immediately headed to the proshop and to my dismay it had not been turned in. So, I put the rest of my clubs in the car and was about to start my search. My plan was to work backwards and talk to all the players I met. Fortunately, I never had to start because the group behind us and found my precious treasure and asked in the parking lot if it was mine. Whew! That was close.
