There is Talk of The Masters Already!

maxresdefaultThe first major is only 50 days away and the pundits are already starting to talk about who is hot and who is not. They circle like vultures in anticipation for the first chink in the top players’ game. The win by Jordan Spieth at Pebble Beach seems to have vaulted him to the top of the likely winners at Augusta.

Personally, I think it is a bit early for such a prediction, however being mid-February; the media has to start building the hype about something. Spieth’s play was impressive last weekend, but unfortunately the growing trend of ‘streaky players’ points to a different way to possibly pick a winner. The Grateful Golfer Community – Masters Recap

Walk and smell the roses.

Good rounds or bad rounds, I am always grateful to play golf!

The Masters in one of my favorite professional golfing tournaments of the year. Normally, the massive media hype at the Masters is hard to fathom, however the events in the final round exceed all media expectations. Crowning Jordan Spieth as Masters champion as he walked to the 10th tee box seemed like the prudent thing to do, but alas golf is a fickle game and at anytime, anything can happen!

I have already recapped my thoughts about the final round at Augusta in Monday’s post, so there is no point in regurgitating it again. mastersWhat a finish to The 2016 Masters. For golfing fans, this finish could not have been scripted any better. The real winners from this Major were the fans. It seemed that the moment I turned my head away from the action, something crazy would happen!

I am not sure if you watched The Masters, if you didn’t, the last 9 holes were absolutely amazing. The number of pressure shots missed and made was epic. Through the entire 2.5 hours, some players quietly went about their business and others, not so much. If you missed it, this is what I thought were the highlights of the last day at the 2016 Masters.

The Masters – Day 3

Inner Calm

The last day of The Masters will test the inner calm of all the players!

JORDAN SPIETH! I really do not have to say much more. Leading for 7 rounds in a row and looking strong enough to make it 8. If he continues to play well he will join the élite group of Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods as back to back champions at the Masters! Although he struggled on 17 and 18, his play to date is the highlight of the tournament!

However, there were other highlights of Day 2. I am not sure what you think are the high points, but here are mine.

The Masters – Day 2

Masters Trivia by The Grateful GolferIn a galaxy far, far away, there was a small group of talented and dedicated men trying to fight for their survival battling a golf course that was unrelenting at best. Day 2 at The Masters, Augusta National Golf Course proved to be that course! I am not sure what happened yesterday, but Augusta bared its teeth and took a huge bite out many of the worlds best golfers.
