This is not the first time no fans were allowed on the course during play, but the prolonged action without the drone of people during a round will be eerie. Well, it is like when I play every one of my rounds; I have no fans following me and things seem to work out just fine. 😉

Are Professional Golfers As Good As We Think?
I often wondered if the average professional golf is as good as we think. As a steady 5 handicap player, I think I have some game. I understand that I have some weaknesses and continue to strive for lower scores. However, the average professional golfer has challenges as well and goes to great lengths to be a more competitive player. Unfortunately, I have never watched a professional event live, but have watched enough on TV to make an informed decision.

In November of 2017, I first addressed the discussion of golf ball and bifurcation. The question was originally asked to me by Darwin Howard, Superintendent of Seguin Valley Golf Club, and at that time I was for it. I thought that limiting the distance professional golfers can hit a ball would be good for golf. Now, I am not so sure!
Before we go further, bifurcation is defined as the point or area at which something divides into two branches or parts. The main concern is that by changing the specifications on a golf ball for professionals, two sets of rules will be develop further separating professionals (and high-ranking amateurs) from the regular player. The Farmer’s Open – A Prelude to a Major
The professional golf world is abuzz with talk about the return of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy for 2020. I have read numerous tweets and articles asking how well these two superstars will fare over the next 9 months. The focus is mostly on Tiger, but Rory is popping up here and there. Unfortunately, it is way to early to focus on their success because winning a golf tournament is really no big deal. And here is why!
