Is this the year that Phil Mickelson finally closes the books on a career grand slam? Or am I getting ahead of myself? After winning the PGA Championship last month, Mickelson’s stats have him with 45 PGA tournament wins that include five Majors. Is this weekend going to be another page into the history books or is he going to fade quietly away never to accomplish one of his career goals. It is difficult to say with Mickelson because we never know which player is going to show up on any given day. Personally, I would like to see him with the US Open after six, second place finishes; it would be the crowing achievement of his illustrious golfing career.

What Club Would You Use?
I was watching Chella Choi hit a hole in one on the 12th hole at US Women’s Open during the third round. It was a shot over water and she was using an orange ball that tracked into the hole after landing at the front of the green. It was a great shot and the third of the tournament. The question I have is what club did Choi use?

2019 US Open – Moving Day
Is it Gary Woodlands tournament to lose or win. He seems to be on cruise control and heads into Sunday with a one stroke lead. He is definitely not someone I would have selected as a potential US Open winner. Regardless, there he is and the rest of the field will need to step up their game to surpass him.
2019 US Open – Day 2
Well there were not many movers on day 2 at Pebble Beach; that is except to Gary Woodland. He played a solid 5 under par. The rest of the top of the leaderboard shot between 1 and 3 under. This was expected and I think the scores will be even higher on moving day as the course becomes drier and harder. I guess this what we should have expected from the second day of the US Open; tougher and windier conditions.
