Stretching Before Golfing

As I turn another age milestone this year, it is apparent that stretching needs to be part of my pre-golfing routine. During the off season, I spend a more time getting limber and this effort definitely pays off during golf season. However, during golf season, I seem to spend less time stretching before golf and I think it is time to change this oversight. I have tried many different types of stretches and I found three by Michael Breed that work for me and I think might work for you. When I use them, I find that my golf swing is fluid and controllable.

Controlling The Clubface Through Impact

Looking back at my 2021 golf season, I found that I had rounds where I struggled to control my ball flight. This error was generally traced back to the position of my clubface during impact. I know this because my misses are generally left (or way left sometimes) and when I look at my clubface afterwards, I found that it was closed. This challenge would come and go during my rounds and I often wondered what was the cause. Well, I think I found out my error and I thought it was worth sharing.

Do Golfers Really Try Golf Tips

I often wonder if most golfers try the golf tips that come across their path on a routine basis. At the Grateful Golfer, I take a great deal of time to offer different tips that might spark their interest. As a beginner, I tried many different tips / drills that were either too complicated for my skill level or did not fit into my exact requirements. Even to this day, I try some of the different drills I come across and try to see if they fit my game or not. Enough about my journey, I wonder if most golfers actually use or try different golf tips to improve their game.

Dual Purpose Putting Tip

As I was perusing my video feeds, I found one that caught my interest. This putting tip, as laid out, is a good one. As I watched it, I found that this drill has other applications which I think as equal or more value. It is a simple, easy, repeatable and provides instant feedback (my must haves for any golf tip). I have used something similar in the past, but this composition offers more options.

How to Quickly and Easily Fix Your Slice

During my early years of golf, I played with a terrible slice. I would aim left of the fairway into the woods with the hope that my ball would shape back into the middle of the short grass. At that time, I adjusted my aim instead of taking the time to fix my terrible flight path. The worst part of my dilemma was I thought that aiming way left was the best way for play golf and as you can imagine, it only compounded my woes. Fast forward many years and I do not slice the ball very often (rarely in fact), but my path to where I currently play was painful and frustrating. I wish I had found Rick Sheils fix 30 years ago!
