How to Quickly and Easily Fix Your Slice

During my early years of golf, I played with a terrible slice. I would aim left of the fairway into the woods with the hope that my ball would shape back into the middle of the short grass. At that time, I adjusted my aim instead of taking the time to fix my terrible flight path. The worst part of my dilemma was I thought that aiming way left was the best way for play golf and as you can imagine, it only compounded my woes. Fast forward many years and I do not slice the ball very often (rarely in fact), but my path to where I currently play was painful and frustrating. I wish I had found Rick Sheils fix 30 years ago!

Is A Putter Fitting Worth The Time And Money

Fitting any golf club is worth the time and money. I say this blank statement of certainty because my experience has demonstrated it to be correct. After discussions with Kevin, and avid reader of The Grateful Golfer, I realize that I have never been professionally fitted as Kevin mentioned he needed. I have ‘self-fitted’ my putter and I often wondered if my process addressed the needs required for a putter fitting (at least on the basic level). A Golfing Philosophy That Works

Finding a golfing philosophy that works is a challenging venture. There are only a million different views on how to improve our golf game that I often become overwhelmed by the deluge of possibilities. Through my many years of playing, I have changed tack many times, but there was one core tenet that I kept with unwavering consistency. Probably by accident in the early years, but by design now, my focus on trying to improve one specific item in my golf game has never changed. This simple step has shaped and molded my game into what it is today. With the 2022 golf season a mere six months away, it is time to design my intended golf path for next summer.

Improving Your Golf Swing One Shot At A Time

It is fair to say that feedback from contact helps shape our golf swing. I don’t know about you, but my great hits do not happen as often as I hope. But, I still keep swinging away hoping that the percentage of great contact continues improve. To do this, I will have to continue swinging and swinging with the intent to get better. Before you start yelling at me and calling me names for stating the obvious, I think if you sit back and think about it, how often do golfers hit their ball with intent.

Now What? My Golf Course Is Closed!

The dreadful day has arrived when my beloved golf course, Osprey Links, is closed……for the season. Jeff Rogerson, GM, made the call because of the tremendous amount of rain, cooler weather, and to allow his staff to but the course to bed for the winter. Generally closing on 31 October, I figure that he decided that the long term benefit for the golf course would be to close a week early. Additionally, the business side of things probably weighed into this decision and with the forecast for cooler and wetter weather all week, I would say it is a good call!
