Is Your Set Up Wrong For Your Golf Game

Our golf game is unique as every snowflake. Regardless of your skill level, every players has something special about their set up. The reason for this cannot be limited to one thing, but generally we all have a different body shapes, flexibility, and muscle movements that drive our desire to create a set up that works for our game. From time to time, I forget to use my unique stet up to ensure I am playing my best golf. But that is my challenge and one I know and understand all too well. Knowing how set up is very important to my game, I do have a tip that I want to share because it is a fault I made in years past and one I make from time to time.

Starting Strong Then Slowing Down In A Three Person Golf Scramble

We had a plan; we had a course of action; we were all in ready to shoot a low score! Well, as we always say: “The first causality of contact is always the plan! And yesterday’s round definitely followed suit. The course was in great shape and the weather was overcast and warm. The wind was light, so overall the playing conditions were perfect for the 3-person scramble. Blair, Rick and I felt that everything was in place to score well and maybe compete for some prizes. Well, we started off great, but as quickly as we heated up, we cooled down and went into simmer mode.

Being Aggressive During A Three Person Scramble

Today, I am playing in a three person scramble with Blair and Rick. It is an annual event that we like to participate in and depending on how things roll, we can finish in the money. Over the years, we have tried different approaches, but this year I think we should up the ante and try to play for first place. I realize we do each year, but it seems that we finish in the middle of the top third of most events. Not this year because we are going to take a new approach.

Playing Golf With Tiger Woods

My nephew sent me a link to a video of Tiger Woods giving a playing lesson with David Spade. It was very entertaining and I want to thank Kevin for thinking about me by sending me the link. It was interesting to watch a player like Spade elevate his game with guidance from one of the greatest players of all time. How awesome would it be to be afforded this type of opportunity.

Forgetting How To Play Golf

There is an expectation that every low single digit handicap golfers hit pure shots….most of the time. The processes are very easy for onlookers because of the mystique of shooting lower golf scores. Well, I am here to set the stage straight! Not every low shooting golfer hits pure irons all the time or even a vast majority of the time. From time to time, we forget how to play golf and make ridiculous shots that would embarrass a first time player. It is the nature of the beast and I believe I experienced this first hand during my last round.
