Fighting The Urge To Press a Poor Situation

I can state with all certainty that every golfer has tried to press a poor situation on the golf course in the hopes of regaining form in one shot. It is nothing to be ashamed about because it is a natural urge. Unfortunately, these high risk shots have worked the odd time and thus this positive intermittent reinforce (considered a very powerful motivator my psychologists) causes poor management. I have to say, I have fell into this exact situation many times over the years. The question is how to avoid pressing a poor situation?

Losing My Concentration Mid Golf Round

What do we mean when we say concentrate or focus when getting ready to hit a golf ball? Do you think of all the aspects of your swing you have to complete or do you think of one thing – personally, I am a one thing player and it makes a difference to my score. Unfortunately, like my last round, I have a tendency to lose my concentration mid round and as result, rack up the strokes needlessly. So Close, But Yet So Far On The Green

On Wednesday past, my usual crew played a 9-hole 4-person scramble for Men’s Night. We generally are solid players and this week we were playing a bit better than normal. We were putting for birdie/eagle on 8 of the 9 holes, so our chances of shooting a low score was definitely part of our plan!
