Every once in a while, Lady Luck decides to shine her light in my direction. When she does, it usually means that I have saved a few strokes or gained one through great play. In this case, it was a little of both. And I have to say that it she helped me play to a 2 over par 73.

Happy Canada Day!

The first of July is special to all Canadians.

Its Canada’s birthday.

Canada is 152 years young! As a Canadian, I have so much to be grateful for; I believe that Canada offers more to its citizens than any country in the world. We are not the biggest, richest, nor most influential, but in my opinion, we are the best! After spending 35 years of my life protecting this great country, I still marvel at its majestic and pristine beauty.

Pulling My Wedges Left

I have developed a small hitch in my swing were a majority of my wedges end up left of the target. I especially find this if I try to squeeze a few extra yards out of the any of the clubs. At this time, I am not sure if it is an alignment, grip, or swing issue. I will be heading to the range today to find out what is going on. This is an normal step in playing great golf during the season and I recommend it to all amateur golfers.

Committing to Your Golf Shot

As amateur golfers, we face many obstacles to playing good golf. I am sure their is an endless list of areas of our game that need improvement. For years, I have worked at my list and figured out that I could have quickly eliminated that I could have made faster progress by following one basic tenant to playing golf. It is something difficult accomplish, but provides that ‘ah ha’ moment once completed.

Pick Your Scramble Position

Playing in a 4 person scramble is always fun. It offers an opportunity to maximize your strengths and hide your weaknesses. Personally, I find that each player playing their preferred position is more beneficial than someone telling them where to play. Picking your position fosters confidence in your game and helps the team succeed in the future.
