Golf is a sport that offers so much to so many. Regardless of your intention, golf can produce results. I have played many rounds that were focused, peaceful and unincumbered by white noise. During those rounds, I feel I can conquer the world with a single shot. Other rounds, it is nothing by a grind and every shot is a challenge. In between these extremes anything can happen. I remember one round in the distant past where I was on a rollercoaster of shots that resulted in a very low score. At the end I was exhausted, but elated with the final result. It was definitely a walk on the wild side of golf.

The everchanging landscape of golf has me wondering if all the effort I put into being a better player is worth the trouble. I know my limitations, both physically and mentally, that directly impact my golf scores. I know where I need to improve and what areas I need to fix. To use an expression from my past, I am not sure if the ‘juice is worth the squeeze’. To phrase it another way, is the outcome of all my effort worth the time I put into trying to be a better golfer.

The Challenge Of Playing Golf With Strangers
Golf is a contact sport. What I really mean is that golf is becoming a social contact sport that provides the opportunity for everyone to meet new people. Sometimes this experience is very positive and others….well, not so much. If you have ever walked on to a golf course looking for a game, chances are you were put into a group of unknowns. After the initial pleasantries are exchanged, the real challenges of playing golf with strangers commences.
