Every time we set up for an approach shot, we all expect the ball to finish close to the pin. Unfortunately, it does not happen as often as we want, but the intent is always there. The challenge most of us have is not hitting to distance, on line or just a miss hit. These challenges are universal for all amateur golfers and yet some seem to mitigate the error percentage better than others. I wish I could wave my magic golf club and make all those challenges disappear. If I could, would I wonder if I would still want to play this magical game. Would you?

Just Playing Golf For Fun
There are many times when I just want to head out to the golf course and hit a little white ball. I have no intention to improve my game, I just want to enjoy my time on the links. Take today for instance, I am heading to Osprey Links to play Senior’s day with my old crew. It is going to be a great time and I have not illusions about my score. Likely we will play a format where individual scores do not matter. And today, this approach will be an awesome thing because I just want to have fun and enjoy playing golf with my friends. There are many ways to enjoy your time on the links and I think I have used most of them over the years.

This week was one of the best of my 2023 golf season. I played in two scrambles and one scramble match play with great results in all the events. Every year I have a week or two like this and in 2023, this was my first. I always look forward to these short periods of lots of golf and it is always better when I play well with positive results.
