I Am Not A Grateful Golfer!

This post will be short. I was playing on my home course a few days ago and came across this:

As you can see, someone took a gouge out of the green adjacent to the pin! How selfish can a golfer be to damage the green in this manner. Likely, they were frustrated with their shot and swung their club not expecting this result. However, as a long time player who values the efforts of the golf course workers, this type of reaction is unacceptable….period.

If you are frustrated with a missed putt or poor chip, do not take it out on the course. All the above action did was annoy the rest of the players, not to mention cause a significant challenge the Superintendent as they try to fix needless damage.

Hitting Something Other Than Your Golf Ball

Over the years, it is amazing how many objects I have hit or seen hit on the golf course. I have hit a few  things, but the majority of objects I have seen hit were cars and houses. It is surprising that we can hit our ball so off course that houses and cars come into play, but it happens more often than expected.  Continue reading
