Recently, I have decided to buy some old golf clubs. They are not something I would take to the links, but they will fit my intended purpose. As you are aware, golf is a big part of my life. Because of that, many of my friends indulge my passion and from time to time will hit the range with me. Additionally, when they bring their kids for a visit, golf seems to be a topic of conversation. As such, I thought it would be a great idea to purchase something that the kids can hit without worry about damaging the clubs. Continue reading

Improving Your Golf Game: Quality Versus Quantity
Everyone I know plays golf to either fun, exercise and to improve. I guess this is a pretty simple approach to this amazing sport and very golfers fall outside these categories. Actually, many use all three as motivation to hit the links on a regular basis. Over the years, we have discussed many barriers to why we struggle with improving, but most of those seem to break down to the time available to play or practice. I can appreciate this challenge which is why I was thinking about whether we use our precious time appropriately to effectively improve our game. Hence the thought of quality versus quantity as an important discussion for many golfers. Continue reading
I Need Help Preparing for Fall Golf
It is August first already and where I live we have about 30 days of fantastic weather before the temperature starts to change. With this change, we Canadians start to look at how to extend our golf season as long as possible. I know that today seems like an odd day but my golf season is at its midway point, so time to get ready. Continue reading
Moving Day at The RBC Canadian Open

The RBC Canadian Open Championship Throphy Image from http://rbccanadianopen.com/
It is a Saturday and after many big names missing the cut, I was wondering if there was as much interest on moving day at Glen Abbey as was hoped?
I am not surprised that the cut line was at minus 4. Glen Abbey has its challenges, but I did not find it overly complicated or difficult to play. I realize the conditions are not the same for amateurs and professionals, but neither is the skill of play. Having said that, players such as Matt Kuchar, Sergio Garcia, Bubba Watson, Adam Hadwin and Brooks Keopka did not perform well enough to make through to the weekend (so much for my golf pool at Osprey Links!). So Glen Abbey must have some teeth.
Is there enough talent left for the weekend to keep the third oldest national golf championship relevant for the next two days? Continue reading
Day 1 at The 2018 RBC Canadian Open
After an odd Day 1 where many of the big names ‘under-performed’ and a weather delay, Friday should prove demonstrated again that on any given day, any professional golfer can win on the PGA Tour. As predicted, there were many low scores and the 63 (-9) by Robert Garrigus was the highlight. It will be interesting to see if he can back it up with another very low scores. His low score was memorable, however the play of the big names was very surprising to me. Continue reading
