Hybrids vs Irons vs Woods

Selecting the right clubs for your game is a challenge. I have changed the composition of clubs in my bag many times over the years. I have added, removed, revisited, and lamented over which clubs would best suit my game. I know it this might fly in the face of convention, but there is really know right answer to the question of which clubs a golfer should carry. All I can tell you is that each club has its unique use and depending on the state of your game, different clubs are required. Hence, the different assortment of through the years met my requirements to maximize my skills at that time.

Weight Transfer In Your Golf Swing

If you are new to golf or you want to improve your swing, then weight transfer has been on your list of areas to improve. I find that weight transfer poses a challenge from time to time because I forget to properly transfer my weight from my trail foot to my lead foot. Golf is a game played from the ground up and understanding the proper method to transfer our weight is critical to improving all areas of our game. Also, I found a great drill to help improve our weight shift that is simple and repeatable.

The Grateful Golfer Blog – Is It Worth The Read?

I often wonder if my daily musings are worth the effort. My original intent was to help me cope with serious health issues (twice) and after nine years of writing, this little golf blog has morphed into something else. I enjoy clacking away at the keyboard everyday because it brings me joy and I am grateful for all the visitors to The Grateful Golfer. ,Now, ongoing intent has expanded so that I provide the readers with fresh ideas on how they can improve their game and to read about the successes and challenges of playing golf regardless of one’s ability. Although I am enjoying punching out an article daily (currently sitting at 630 days in a row) I sometimes wonder if The Grateful Golfer is worth the read?

Time To Change My Golf Clubs!

I have played my Mizuno MP 20s for two seasons now and it is time to trade them in for something better! You know, after two years and about 100+ rounds, there are no good shots left in them. Hence, my decision to change my clubs has come in a whim. I figure that by changing my clubs my game will improve and I should take one step closer to being a scratch golfer!

Expecting Your Golf Game to Improve

This is the time of year in my golf season where I expect my scores to start a downward trend. We are about six weeks late due to COVID, but that is not something that I lament on because it is out of my control. As I look forward, this is about the time in the season when the rust is mostly knocked off and I can rely on consistent play. This is nothing new for me as it happens every year. But, when should you expect your golf game to improve if you are taking steps to make changes. I bet inquiring minds want to know!
