I do not know about you, but I believe that every shot is important during all my rounds of golf. At any given time, on shot can turn your great round into a good round, into an average round, into a poor round. It really depends on how poorly we actually hit a ball. This happened to me during my last round where two bad swings resulted in a three over par round. Just two poor swings!

I am not sure which is crazier – hoping or wishing for a golf shot? Actually, both are equally loony. Except for the rare occasions where we have to make an absolute miracle shot, if I am hoping or wishing for a good golf shot, I need to go back to the drawing board. I need to re-evaluate my golf game and come up with a better play. Wishing or hoping not the way to play consistent, low scoring golf. It basically is a pipe dream!

Most golfers are searching for the perfect golf swing. It is one of those elusive goals that never seems to diminish over the many years of playing. Over the past 10 years or so, many top level golfers have turned to the systematic approach to improving their swing. The reliance on numbers and statistics (on and off the course) drives many of the minor changes in a professional golfers swing. I do not see this changing anytime soon, but unfortunately the systematic approach may not be as beneficial to amateurs who have other stressors in their lives that prevents them from dedicating the time and money to finding their perfect golf swing.
